Creative Abstractions
Featuring Colorful Abstract Paintings and Collage

"My work is an exploration of freedom of thought, color and design, incorporating handmade paper, paper mache, wire and other found objects. I use acrylic paints on heavy watercolor paper and canvas with frequent use of pure powder pigment, ink, texture, sand, multiple layers of glazing, airbrushing and transfers.
I hope the viewers will appreciate the color, form and balance in my art and interpret the work in their own way.

My pieces have been inspired by and reflect great admiration for the artists Rothko, DeKooning, Gorky, collage artists Louise Cadillac and Nina Bagley and many, many talented local artists in my community."

Carolyn's art has been displayed in galleries in Northern Illinois, Door County, Wisconsin and Womanspace in Rockford, IL. She has been a participant in several Artscenes in Rockford, IL in which she has been a Featured Artist, and her work is shown in the "Art Rockford" coffee table book.
